Welcome to the Jang Lab or Lab of Molecular Epigenetics!

We are part of the Department of Biology, Yonsei University, Seoul, Republic of Korea. Our research is focused on understanding the links between signaling, chromatin dynamics, and gene regulation in a model genetic system: the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe. We are also interested in understading the role of regulators of chromatin structures and histone modifying enzymes including histone deacetylases, histone methyltransferases, and histone demethylases. In addition, we are currently doing research project for discovery and development of anti-cancer drugs having inhibitory activities aginst histone-modifying enzymes.

This web site offers information on signaling to chromatin and our research. For general information, resources, and protocols on fission yeast, you can navigate to Forsburg lab, Nurse lab handbook, Russell lab, FYSSION project, and the Sanger pombe page. In addition, visit to the chromatin home page and Epigenome Network of Excellence (NoE) Website for further information on chromatin structure and function.

If you are students in the courses of Genetics or general Biology, you may access the download to get lecture notes. Thank you for visiting us!
